To view a black & white photo of Levi (68Kb), click here. This picture is taken directly from a “Xerox” copy of the Heimbach Herald. The original is based upon a CDV, which was scanned at two resolutions (High 300 DPI/190K and Medium 200 DPI/70K). Levi’s brothers William (203K) and George-Henry (63K) are also served in the Civil War. William survived the war but George-Henry was shot at The Battle of Spottsylvania and died later in Washington D.C. and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. William served under Major General Milroy (61K) in Winchester, Va. A picture of Abraham Lincoln is also in the Heimbach collection.
Levi’s sister Malinda Heimbach Martz married William Martz who also served in the Civil War. There are three other pictures of Malinda (37K (Lower right), 82K (Later Years), 19K). Malinda’s sisters Ellen and Mary Heimbach Stettler are also in this collection along with Mary’s husband Daniel. Levi’s brother Benjamin is not yet pictured here.
